The problem with big properties

When you've got two, five, twenty acres, the hardest part isn't planting. It's deciding. Where does the driveway flow? Where does the vegetable garden get the right sun without being a hike from the kitchen? Where does the pond go, and what should live around it? Where do the fruit trees line up, where do the animals eventually live, and where do you leave room for the wildlife? Most people with acreage don't have a landscaping problem. They have a layout problem. That's what this service solves.

What we plan together

This is conceptual site design: the big-picture layout and flow of your whole property, built around how you actually want to live on it.

An honest note on scope

I'm not a livestock expert. I'm not going to tell you how to raise cows. What I'm good at is the conceptual design: the layout, the flow, what should go where and why, and which plants belong in each zone. If your project needs a well guy, a fence guy, or a cattle guy, those are their lanes. The master plan is mine.

Built in phases, not all at once

A real homestead is a five-to-ten-year plan, and that's a good thing. We design the whole vision up front, then break it into phases you can actually build as time and budget allow. Right now I'm helping a client develop their five-acre homestead exactly this way. We mapped the whole property together: the office, the pond, the gardens, the animal areas, the flow of the driveway. Phase one is already in the ground. Another client just brought me twenty acres: horses, an RV pad, fruit tree rows, a vegetable garden, and dedicated wildlife zones. Same approach. Master plan first, then phase by phase. You don't need to do everything this year. You need to know where everything goes, so nothing you build this year is in the way of what you build in year five.
